Hi, I’m Lou, your local wedding photographer and owner of Tickle Photography.
The story behind the name Tickle Photography?
Well, it’s quite a simple one really. My name is Lou Tickle and it’s a surname I absolutely love. Let’s face it, it’s not exactly a name you’re going to forget any time soon, plus it always makes people smile and so, Tickle Photography was born in October 2013.
My career in photography started over 10 years ago. During those years, I’ve been so lucky to have had such amazing opportunities such as working as an on board portrait and wedding photographer for Royal Caribbean International and Disney Cruise Lines. I got to see a huge chunk of the world, photograph and meet some amazing people and party with the Disney Princesses in the middle of the Caribbean Sea!
Moving back to land (and England), I discovered Nottingham and now consider it my adopted hometown. Being a wedding photographer has given me the opportunity to see not only what’s on my doorstep but see more of the U.K. from London to Newcastle. Every day offers something new. A new adventure.
Why wedding photography?
I love the thrill, the buzz I get while photographing a couple’s wedding. I’m a storyteller, so it’s all about capturing those intimate moments and documenting your special day as it unfolds and ultimately getting you those amazing, fun and creative wedding photos you’ll love and cherish forever.
What do I do apart from weddings and portraits?
More often than not, I’ll be getting lost and muddy, hiking around the Peak District; my camera in one hand and a bacon cob/bap in the other. I love getting out and about as well as having a crack at getting some beautiful landscape shots.
Recently I’ve been introduced to ice hockey and absolutely love it! Now, any chance I get to watch the Nottingham Panthers – I’m there!
